YouTube Trending Tab vs Randomly Inspired No Views Round 1: MacNcheeseP1z vs miss G! S
I have been watching YouTube since Smosh's Mortal Kombat video way back in 2005. The takeaways here is that I'm old, and that I have watched YouTube grow up from its baby days. I've seen it adapt and change and I'm always looking for the next new thing.
I mean, I would love it if we could be watching LiamKyleSullivan still do Kelly songs, but people grow and YouTube changes with it.
So, I decided that I would look at the Trending Tab and Randomly Inspired to see if I could find something fun.
At first, I wasn't super into the idea of using the Trending Tab, since these would be videos that were already trending. In fact, when I opened the tab, I had seen the videos there already. But, then, they had a "Gaming Creator on the Rise," and that looked a lot more promising.
This gaming creator is MacNCheeseP1z, who literally gained 440 subs while I was writing this. She's currently at 22,608 subs, but she probably has more by now. But under 100,000 is the perfect time to find a new YouTuber. I decided I would watch a 4 week old BitLife video because I love BitLife videos.
What I noticed while watching the video is that MacNcheeseP1z has awesome energy, which is like 80% of watching YouTube. She uses an Android to play BitLife, and I appreciate that - I also play BitLife on an Android! I always feel jealous when I watch YouTubers play on iPhones because they have features I don't, and that's lame. MacNcheeseP1z is on my level. She has fun editing in her videos, which is like another 50% of YouTube, and I'm aware I went over 100% already but YouTube components are more of a Venn Diagram. There's overlap. I not only decided that I will continue watching at least her BitLife videos, I am actively watching a second one while I'm writing this update. I will also check out her Yandere Simulator videos, because that's another game I love watching on YouTube.
I also subscribed to her.
I had a lot more faith in Randomly Inspired No Views. These are videos that have literally no views. I have the perfect opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a YouTuber. The video that I got was "Q8 airport terminal 4," which will obviously have views now since I've seen it, but I was the first:
It was a super short video, but it was fun and high energy. The fun was contagious. I decided to check out miss G! S's channel, which had 0 subs, and 5 other videos. Since most of the videos were short, and also had no views, I watched more. I couldn't understand most of them - I don't know the language. But I could tell that miss G! S was having fun, and the fun was contagious, even through the language barrier.
However, this week, I have to give the point to the Trending Tab, but only because of the language barrier. MacNcheeseP1z is fun to watch, but she's already at 22k+ subs and I already watch a lot of BitLife and Yandere Simulator videos, so it's not really like discovering something new. miss G! S has no views and no subscribers and is just living her best life, and if I understood what she was saying I would have picked her in an instant.
Which channel do you like from this week? Have you ever used Randomly Inspired No Views before, and what was your experience? I want to know!

The summer anthem of 2006.
For the most part, the algorithm has correctly identified for me what I will like to watch next, but I don't want to depend on the algorithm. I want to be more in control of my own destiny. I was watching Smosh since before their Pokemon video. I want to be ahead of the trends.
